Josh Mahan is a Director, Animator and Production Designer originally from North Carolina. His commercial clients include NBC, Oxygen, TBS, Marvel, Vice, Hasbro, IBM and Cadbury.

His work has been featured on Portlandia, CollegeHumor and the feature documentary The Magic of Heineken. His work as Lead Animator on Leah Meyerhoff’s debut feature I Believe in Unicorns has been lauded by critics from Variety to the New York Times. His short films have screened at festivals across the US, Europe and Asia including SXSW, Coachella, Waterfront FF, and SLIFF, taking home multiple Best Animation awards.

His recent work as Lead Animator and Art Director on the stop-motion short Bartleby by Laura Naylor (Duck Beach to EternityThe Fix) premiered at Aspen Shortsfest 2017. His work as Lead Animator on The Grave Of St. Oran by Jim Batt (Jay Z: The War on Drugs Is an Epic Fail) with narration by Neil Gaiman will premiere in 2019.

He is currently in pre-production on his Capsule, a stop-motion sci-fi short film.
